What is hypnotherapy?

Did you know? In normal waking consciousness, we only use around 3% of our brain!

The conscious mind is responsible for logical thinking and observing our senses and the world around us. Everything else; our breathing, heartbeat, other biological functions, our beliefs, habits, memories and identity are all looked after by our subconscious mind.

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of awareness that anyone can enter into, where the logical mind is bypassed and the subconscious mind is more receptive to suggestions that can change the way they think, feel and behave.

As a therapeutic practice, hypnotherapy is a powerful tool, backed up by a huge amount of neuroscience research, for creating fast, long-lasting and life-changing results.

How does hypnotherapy work?

A Hypnotherapist has the skills and methods to guide a client into a hypnotic ‘trance’ state. In this relaxed state, we can bypass the rational, conscious mind to communicate directly with the subconscious mind to find and embed new, healthy ways of looking after yourself.

If you have a strong desire for change in your life but can't quite seem to successfully achieve it, your subconscious may be holding onto beliefs and patterns which no longer serve you.

What can I expect from your hypnotherapy sessions?

First of all, we are not going to ‘make you do anything’! In our sessions there are 3 of us in the room, me, you and your subconscious.

We will gently distract your conscious mind so that we can then chat to your subconscious, thank it for looking after you (it always has your best interest at heart) and then find a new, healthier path to follow, with your subconscious’s full knowing & acceptance.

This gentle, caring approach means your subconscious feels heard, valued and is happy to support you in trying a new healthier alternative to keep you safe and happy.

You will enter a deeply relaxing state during the session and feel empowered and refreshed at the end of it, ready to change and positively move forward.

Addictions

Addictions can be a substitute for fulfilment in other areas of your life. We can work with your subconscious to replace purpose, direction and action in your life and let go of unhelpful behaviours that have may have been limiting you.

Anxiety

Chronic Pain

Pain is the body's natural way of triggering a healing response when it is damaged. Chronic pain, however, which is defined as ongoing pain, lasting more than 3 to 6 months can be very debilitating and have serious detrimental effects to our physical and mental wellbeing.
